Grooming your Siberian Husky
The Siberian Husky is relatively easy to groom. A good slicker brush, comb, nail trimmer, are the main tools you will need. We recommend brushing your pet once a week this will help keep the loose hair under control, especially during the shedding season. Bathing your Siberian can be a challenge. If you are doing it in your bath tub, keep a lot of towels handy. When they shake out their coat you will get very wet. Check to see if there is a groomer in your area that will let you use their tub. Some will, for a nominal charge.
You will also need a good force air dryer this will help to "blow" the water out of his coat. there are a lot of products available that claim to whiten , brighten or remove odors.. The shampoos that we like are Main and Tail, Cindra texurizing shampoo, No.1 All Systems, and Snowy Coat. After Shampooing it is very important to rinse all of the shampoo out of his coat. If you have the patience, run a good quality metal comb through his coat before you bathe him or after he is dry.
The only trimming done on the Siberian is the hair between the pads of his feet.
