Al and I became involved in Siberian Huskies in the mid eighties. Our first one was a black and white named Nakita..(August 1983 - November 1998) She taught us a lot about the breed, Nakita was an escape artist, and enjoyed the neighbor's rabbits. We decided to learn more about the breed.. So We joined the Siberian Husky Club of Greater Detroit We have been active members of the club since 1984 and have served in a number of positions. Sharon has served as President , Vice President, Board Member and I am currently the President and editor of the Club Newsletter. I am also the current chairman for the 2008 Specialty and 2007 and 2008 Agility trialsI have been The show chairman for our specialty 4 times We are also members of the Siberian Husky Club of America and Mid Union Sled Haulers,Canine performance (agility) sharon owns a Dog and cat grooming business located in dexter Mi you can visit that website at http://www.bowwow Meow.us

We learned a lot about the breed from the people in the club. We learned that even Though we thought Nakita was beautiful (and she was) She wasn't a show quality Siberian.. We then met Judy Russell of Karnovanda Kennels. Judy gave us our first Show dog

CH. Karnovanda's Keneau ( June 1986 June-2001). Keneau (pronounced Keeno) was a lovely gray and white moderate sized male.

We also started to attend sled dog races. At the time we only had 2 dogs so the first year we just watched... The following year we had enough dogs for a 3 dog team. We have been active Mushers ever since

Sharon currently runs a 5 dog Sprint team.

We have become active in Agility as well Blue is our current agility dog this is a very fun sport and something you can do with a little bit of work

We are the Co-Breeders of a National specialty winner (BISS CH. Highlander's Tool Time) Minnesota 1997. Al has gone on to a career as a Junior Showmanship dog..

We are also the breeder and owner of National Specialty Winner CH. Yukonwind's Red Ryder (first in 9-12 months St. Louis 2000 and third in Bred by Exhibitor New York 2001.)
